Showa HD announced the change into a holding company and the ensuing restructuring plan

Showa Holdings Co., Ltd. (Showa HD), a member company of Asia Partnership Fund (APF) Group, spun off 3 business divisions into its consolidated subsidiaries, based on IR restructuring plan, effective October 1, 2009.
The new companies are Showa Rubber Co., Ltd. (manufacturing and sales of rubber products), Showa Rubber Technology Development Co., Ltd. (research and development, management, and manufacturing and sales of kneaded rubber), and Showa Sports Co., Ltd. (sports business, manufacturing and sales of soft tennis balls and such). In the future Showa Corporation Co., Ltd. will be established to operate sales of sporting goods--a 4-subsidiary structure.
Spinning business divisions out into subsidiaries, Showa HD aims to clarify the roles and responsibilities of each company in order to achieve the early-stage target of its medium-term management plan.
